Dave Cedrone–President
Dave is a paralegal providing personal injury defense support to a leading commercial insurance defense company. Prior to becoming a paralegal Dave was a teacher in the Prince George’s County Public School District in Maryland. Dave has a BA in History and enjoys traveling to historic sites around Europe and the United States. Dave enjoys playing guitar and being an advocate for those living with mental illness.
Phyllis Brown-Edwards–Vice President
Phyllis is the Founder and CEO of PB Edwards Consulting LLC. She is a very active member of the community being Co-chair of the Stigma-Free Taskforce in Clifton. Phyllis is also a member of the NJ Association of Women Business Owners, Community Liaison Board of Hackensack and the Rotary Club of Englewood. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Westside Infant Program and Center for Food Action. Phyllis has received the Trailblazer Award from the Coalition of 100 Black Women and the Community Award from the NAACP of Bergen County. She resides in Clifton and worships at the Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
Paul currently works as a Vice President within the Finance department at The Bank of New York Mellon, working out of their corporate headquarters in downtown Manhattan. He obtained a BA in Economics and MBA, both from Rutgers University. Paul is passionate about giving back. He serves on the Board of Directors for Unchained At Last, mentors numerous people through his alma mater and various philanthropic organizations.
Martha Lissette Aykut–Secretary
Mrs. Aykut has been a Clifton resident for the past 21 years. She is heavily involved with the Clifton Stigma Free Taskforce. Martha received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Counseling from Pillar College in 2016. For the past ten years she is the maintenance administrator for a low-income Property Management Company located in Secaucus, New Jersey.
Annemarie Appleton
Ms. Appleton joined the MHAPC Board of Directors in 2017. She is the President of Knickerbooker Machine Shop, Inc. in Totowa and resides in Wayne Township. Her volunteer involvement includes membership on the St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. She served on the Board of the Greater Community Bank for 17 years. Her major goal on the MHAPC Board is to help facilitate the development of greater access to mental health services at the local level. Ms. Applegate’s business and leadership skills are an asset to the MHAPC Board and are contributing to MHAPC’s expanding services
Cindy Giardina
Ms. Giardina is the President and Owner at Kaleidoscope Coaching Services. She is a professional certified coach specializing in Attention Deficit Disorder. Cindy’s other memberships and involvement include Co-Leader on Monthly ADHD Niche Coaching calls, Founder/leader ADDBook Club; former Board Member, Membership Chair for the national Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA- 2004-2010), worked closely with board members on Events, dinners and exhibits for the Women’s Executive Network and NJ Professional Coaches Association.

Shannon Smith
Shannon Smith is a lifelong Educator and Currently Works at the NYC DOE as the Senior Director of EduStat. Shannon has held a variety of leadership roles including high school science teacher, Assistant Principal, High School Principal, and District Superintendent. He has led school district innovation and organizational capacity building. Shannon earned his Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, and Specialist of Arts degrees at Eastern Michigan University.
