Volunteer Opportunities

The Mental Health Association in Passaic County can use your help in several ways. Training and supervision are provided for all volunteers.

Community Advocate Volunteer: Help an adult with mental illness feel more integrated into the community by being a mentor and provide assistance in developing social skills, educational skills, vocational and recreational interests.  Family Volunteer: Provide support to a family member of an adult with mental illness.  Family members need support and respite from the care giving duties.  Contact Joanne Green (973) 478-4444, ext: 111 or jgreen@mhapassaic.org  if you are interested in volunteering for Intensive Family Support Services.

 Fundraising Assistant: Help with special events such as our annual Vision and Achievement Awards Dinner held each June or with our Fall Bowlathon or other development projects. Interested contact Joanne Green (973) 478-4444, ext: 111 or email JGreen@mhapassaic.org.

 Legislative Network Volunteer: Consumers of mental health services, family members and other concerned citizens encourage informed public decision through writing emails, letters, public testimony and meetings with county, state and federal officials.  Interested?
